“I don’t want you to go,” I pouted. Yes, I admit it. The big, tough butch was pouting. I mean, come on. How could I not? My girl was over there packing her suitcase to be gone for a week! A whole week! What was I supposed to do without her?

“Awww,” Kaitlyn cooed, walking over and kissing me on that pouty lip and then sucking on it.

Aw, man! What she does to me should be illegal. My insides just turned to mush and I’m putty in her hands to do with as she wills.

“You are just too cute,” Kaitlyn laughed and turned back to her packing.

“I am not cute,” I spouted indignantly, crossing my arms over my chest and trying to suck in that lip. I heard Kaitlyn giggle. My heart did a little tap dance. I loved her giggle. It made me shiver all over and made me warm at the same time.

Kaitlyn stood at the closet and stared at me, eyebrows raised. And she just stared and stared until I finally broke eye contact and gave in. I always did. I lowered my head in defeat. Next thing I knew her arms were around me and she was wiggling herself onto my lap. Oh Yeah! Now we’re talking. I wrapped my arms around her soft curves and held on tight, determined not to let her go. Maybe if I hugged her long enough, she’d miss her flight. I gave up thoughts of detaining her or anything else when her small, soft hands roamed their way under my tank and across my breasts. Moaning was top on the list of things I was doing besides stroking Kaitlyn’s back. She had the softest skin I’d ever felt and it was such a turn on to run my hands over her body.

“You’re not going to make me miss my flight, you know,” Kaitlyn whispered in my ear. Her hot breath and tone sent shivers up my spine and then I registered what she’d said.

I leaned back from her and looked into those deep green eyes, seeing all the love and desire in them. “I know,” I admitted. “It just helps to make me think I might succeed.” She laughed and I just watched in amazement. Her eyes sparkled and her red-gold curls bounced on her shoulders. “You are so beautiful,” I said reverently, stroking her hair.

“Thank you, love. And all yours,” Kaitlyn returned fiercely.

“Mine.” Boy did that sound good. I still couldn’t get over how someone like Kaitlyn, gorgeous and full of life, could or would want someone like me, rough around the edges and a pessimist at best. She always said it was love at first sight. I knew that was true for me, but how could she have fallen for me, especially back then? I was a scruffy, Harley riding dyke in leather. Of course, maybe the leather was what did it. I don’t know. I know she likes it now when I dress in leather, so maybe that caught her attention that night at the bar. She sure caught mine with those tight jeans and snug shirt that barely contained her size D breasts. Not to mention that attitude. Boy, did my girl have attitude. Anyone got near her and she didn’t want them there, they got an ear full and more. She may be small, but her words pack quite a punch. Add that haughty look she’s so good at and you’ve got quite a little dynamo.

“What are you grinning about?” Kaitlyn asked, kissing me on the chin.

“Just remembering the night we met,” I returned and watched her blush. She didn’t like to remember all of it. I may have thought she was awesome that night, but it still embarrassed her after all this time.

“Don’t remind me,” she groaned.

I hugged her tight into my chest, just enjoying snuggling with her and remembering that night like it was yesterday and not over four years ago.

Like I said, she caught my eye as soon as I walked in. I stopped at the bar to pick up a drink, leaned back into it and took a swig of my beer, surveying the dance floor as I did. That’s where she was. Dancing with who I later learned was a friend. I watched her for a while, just to get the feel of her moods and temper. I know it’s cliché, but I didn’t know too many redheads who didn’t have a temper.

Several women approached her as she danced and I watched her shake her head vigorously at whatever they were proposing. One woman was brave enough to go back and try again. I cringed when I noticed the look that Kaitlyn shot her when her ‘no’ was not immediately accepted. When she stopped dancing and put her hands on those curvy hips of hers, I leaned closer to the action to see what would happen.

“Am I speaking English here or are you just too dense to understand it?” Kaitlyn glared at the woman as she spoke, stepping closer to her. Even though the other woman had half a foot on Kaitlyn, Kaitlyn looked quite intimidating and it didn’t surprise me when the other woman backed down, apologizing for disturbing her again. “Sorry is right. Go find someone else to bother. I’m not interested.”

The other woman passed me muttering ‘bitch’ under her breath.

“I heard that,” Kaitlyn called after her. “And that’s just what it takes to get rid of the likes of you.”

I couldn’t help but grin. I loved her spirit already and I hadn’t even met her. I bided my time and let her cool off before I approached her. Her dance partner had gone towards the restroom and before Kaitlyn could leave the dance floor I was standing in front of her. She slowly raked her eyes up my body, starting at my boots and stopping when she met my gaze. I swear she undressed me right there. That’s what it felt like and my entire skin tingled like I’d been touched over every inch of it.

Kaitlyn crossed her arms over her chest and glared at me. “Yes?”

“Would you like to dance? I see your partner is absent at the moment.” I tried to be suave, but I’m sure I failed miserably. She looked me over again, slow as last time and my skin now felt on fire.

“And if I say ‘no’?” she challenged.

“Then I go back to the bar and watch you dance with someone else,” I confessed, anxiety welling up in me. She made me stew for a minute.

“Good answer,” she replied and grabbed my hand. Before I knew what hit me, we were entwined on the dance floor swaying to a slow song. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Kaitlyn felt wonderful, soft and curvy and smelled of lavender. My chin rested on her head and her hair smelled of lavender too. My body slowly burned as we danced.

When the dance ended, I stepped back, not wanting to assume she’d dance with me again. My body craved her touch, but I knew what happened when Kaitlyn was pushed so I gave her space. “Thank you for the dance. Would you like a drink?”

“I’d love a beer.” Kaitlyn surprised me by answering.

I practically floated to the bar, so jazzed that she was letting me be near her some more that I didn’t know what to do. I grabbed a couple of beers and headed back to her. I watched her practically guzzle her beer.

“Sorry. I’m dying of thirst,” she said softly, blushing.

That did it for me. She had my heart from that moment on. It was the cutest and sexiest thing I’d ever seen. We got a table and chatted. Her friend came back, had a beer and then returned to the dance floor with another woman. Kaitlyn let me dance with her for the rest of the night and no one tried to cut in. I guess they realized Kaitlyn was spoken for.

I returned to the present when I realized that Kaitlyn was crawling off my lap. She was gone before I could stop her and heading toward the closet. I stared as she removed another suitcase from it.

“I thought it was for just a week?” I muttered. “How many clothes do you need?” Kaitlyn turned and stared at me with her hands on her hips and gave me that look that said “Watch it”. I rephrased my question to sound less insulting. “Why do you need two suitcases, babe?” This time she smiled at me. Whew.

“Because you’re coming too.”

I just stared at her and then shook my head. “No way, unh-huh, no how,” I said, standing up and backing away from her. “There is no way I’m spending a week at a damn spa.” I glared at her. She glared back at my response and kept glaring until I looked away. Defeated again! Damn! My shoulders slumped when I realized I’d be spending a week at a spa. Oh Goddess, help me! Before the Goddess could respond, Kaitlyn did, wrapping her arms around my waist and hugging me tight. I leaned into her embrace.

“It’ll be okay, love,” Kaitlyn whispered in my ear. “You can stay in our room during the day and I’ll be back for dinner. We can have dinner together and spend the whole night alone. Okay?”

“What about work?”

“You have the week off, courtesy of Kevin,” she informed me. I didn’t wonder how she’d done it. When Kaitlyn set her mind to something, it happened.

“I have so much to do,” I protested.

“Nothing that can’t wait.” Kaitlyn stepped back from me and lifted my face to meet her gaze. “Don’t you want to go away with me?”

Oh Goddess, what a question! “Of course I do, but a spa, babe? Can’t we go somewhere else?” I tried to reason with her.

“You promised me a week at a spa,” Kaitlyn reminded me.

I could kick myself now for that promise. “I know.”

“And do you want me spending all my free evenings with the other ladies or gentlemen there?”

It was my turn to glare at her. “Not on your life,” I growled at her.

She just smiled and I knew she had won again.

I threw my hands up and then headed to the dresser. In five minutes my suitcase was packed. “Okay, let’s go,” I conceded.

Kaitlyn gave me the most beautiful smile and all thoughts of hating this trip suddenly disappeared. A week with my girl. Who could ask for more?

The End
