Carrying daisies in my pockets
kisses up my sleeve
I chase the girl
with poetry in her eyes

I am a shadow on her wall
visiting her in my dreams
too shy to tell her
what I really feel inside

If I had the chance
I'd melt her pain
With the warmth of the sun
quench her tears
with the coolness of the rain

But I drown inside my soul
words glued fast upon my lips
eyes averted so that she can't see
