Love's End
by Athenian Bard

Disclaimers: This is again another one of my melodramatic love stories, if you aren’t interested there are some really funny stories on Alex Tryst’s page! This is a love story between two women if you find that distasteful well you are on the wrong site to begin with! There is some violence dealing with homophobia and a car crash. If after that you still want to read…Thanks!

Dedications: This one is dedicated to T.S my best friend who is always encouraging me to continue writing. Love you always!

Thanks to all of you that read the stories and write me. I appreciate you taking these journeys with me and for letting me know how much you like them.

Feedback is always welcome: athenianbard@e-scribblers.com.

She sat on the precipice, such a double entendre. She had never had a dilemma this big before, but then again she had never done anything this stupid before. She had no idea what to do. Having no examples to guide her and certainly no one to turn to. So here she sat looking out and watching the ocean waves crash upon the rocks of the cliff.

She had done it, something she never thought she would ever get the courage to do; she kissed her! She kissed the homecoming queen. Now the problem being she had no one to talk to about any of this.

Here she lived in this small very religious town of Provo, Utah. Where all her friends, the entire community was Mormon, she would be excommunicated from her church and her family would probably never speak to her again, and she Rosalie Daniels had kissed the homecoming queen at the dance, in front of everyone!

So there she sat on the cliff considering her options, there were four. She could pretend she was drunk when she did it, although everyone would know she wasn’t, denial is a powerful thing, and they would allow her to use it. She would just be punished for her drinking. Then there was always running away, she had her car and in it a full tank of gas along with two sets of clothes. Then there was always suicide; a quick end to her misery, before it truly began even though she knew it was the cowards’ way out. And then there was the last option her least favorite. She could stay and face her consequences that would be very disastrous.

Considering her options very closely and thinking of the fact she’d be labeled a coward and which is almost as bad as being labeled a queer in her family. Then there was the fact that she could be a coward or if she stayed she realized she could possibly be the female version of Matthew Shepherd. That is if the football team got a hold of her. Especially since the homecoming queen was the quarterback's girlfriend!

She stood and brushed her pants off ridding them of dirt. Wiping away the errant tears that had appeared in her eyes. The decision was made and she refused to go back into the closeted hell she had been in all her life.

Not wanting to die or be ashamed of her happiness, she walked away. Walking back to her car and getting in and driving to Provo city limits. Leaving it all behind, and never once looking back.

The End
